The countdown is on to the 11th edition of the Belgrade Indoor Meeting, one of only eight athletics meetings worldwide holding Gold status. Another spectacular celebration of the “queen of sports” awaits us, organized by the Serbian Athletic Federation — a true festival of sport.
On February 11, 2026, starting at 2:30 PM, the Athletics Hall in Banjica will host the world’s elite at the very beginning of a season filled with high expectations. Many of the athletes arriving in Belgrade have worked tirelessly to pursue their dreams and goals — records on the athletics runway.
Women’s long jump, always attractive, fast, precise and rich in explosive power, will once again capture the full attention of the audience. This year, the spotlight will be firmly fixed on the performances of these outstanding athletes competing at one of the world’s premier indoor meetings. The entry list includes four champions who have all cleared distances beyond 6.90 meters, among them Serbian champion Milica Gardašević.
Alina Rotaru-Kottmann of Romania won the bronze medal in the women’s long jump at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. Her personal best of 6.96 meters was achieved in Ieringen in July 2023.
Plamena Mitkova is a Bulgarian athlete who claimed victory in the long jump at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships. She also competed at the 2024 Olympic Games. Mitkova’s personal best stands at 6.97 meters, set at the 2024 Bulgarian National Championships in Veliko Tarnovo.
Marthe Koala of Burkina Faso, who competes in the 100m hurdles, long jump and heptathlon, will present herself in Belgrade in the long jump event. At the 2023 World Athletics Championships, she finished seventh in the long jump. Her personal best of 6.94 meters was set in 2023 at a competition in Kinshasa. Koala won gold at the 2022 African Championships and added two silver medals at the same event in 2023 and 2024.
Brazilian long jumper Letícia Oro Melo won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Previously, Melo captured the South American Championship title in 2021 and the Brazilian national title in 2022. Her personal best is 6.89 meters.
Romanian long jumper Ramona Elena Verman has a personal best of 6.60 meters and won the 2025 European U23 Championships in Bergen, Norway, before claiming a bronze medal at the 2025 Balkan Championships the following week. Her jump of 6.59 meters was enough to defeat Kadi Sagnia and reigning European champion Malaika Mihambo at the ISTAF Indoor meeting in Düsseldorf — a Silver-level World Athletics Indoor Tour event — on January 24, 2026.
The home crowd will enthusiastically support two Serbian long jumpers: the celebrated champion Milica Gardašević and rising star Teodora Boberić, who has won two European silver medals in the triple jump (U18 and U20). Boberić’s personal best in the long jump stands at 6.24 meters.
Quality, excitement and the unique sporting magic that only athletics can provide are guaranteed through the impressive lineup set to compete at the 11th Belgrade Indoor Meeting.
Let us be the wind at the backs of both domestic and world-class stars and witness new chapters in the history of the “queen of sports.”
The meeting will open with the women’s triple jump, part of the pre-programme, starting at 2:30 PM.
