Championship years begin with confirmed champions. Serbia’s capital, which holds one of the most prominent positions on the World Athletics map—a status earned through top-level organization of major world and European indoor championships, as well as results and dedication across all levels and sectors of the “queen of sports”—will once again host the Belgrade Indoor Meeting. This prestigious event, one of only eight meetings worldwide with Golden status in the World Athletics calendar, will be held on February 11, 2026, at the Banjica Athletics Hall, bringing together the true competitive crème de la crème of world athletics champions.
A spectacle not to be missed and a sporting event enjoyed by everyone—from spectators to athletes—the Belgrade Indoor Meeting will once again be the central event of the winter athletics season.
The 2026 edition marks the 11th season of the meeting in Serbia’s capital and the second season since it joined the very elite and earned the “Golden” label.
Confirmation of its class and popularity among the world’s favorite athletics meetings is further highlighted by the fact that, just like in 2025, one of the biggest stars of modern athletics will compete at the February event in Banjica. Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglou—six-time European long jump champion, Tokyo Olympic champion, and 2022 World Indoor champion—has confirmed his participation.
The end of the 2025 calendar year brought confirmation that this global star of the “queen of sports” will begin his new competitive campaign and pursuit of new records in Belgrade at the 2026 Belgrade Indoor Meeting. With this announcement, the entry list has begun in golden letters, featuring an athlete who, despite being only 27 years old, has already achieved legendary status.
For many years, the Belgrade indoor athletics meeting has been a gathering place for families—a sporting event that brings equal joy to children and parents alike. Photos of packed stands at Banjica from 2025 and previous seasons speak for themselves. The high demand for tickets for February 11, 2026, is already evident, as strong interest followed immediately after ticket sales opened, and with just a month and a half to go, only a limited number of tickets remain available.
Ticket sales began two months before the meeting. Tickets are available via the platform
